Bulk vs bagged topsoil
The cheaper unit price is not always the cheaper order. Compare the total you must buy, including delivery and supplier rules.
Bagged soil
Bag cost is the number of full bags multiplied by the price per bag, plus bag delivery. The calculator rounds up after all areas have been added.
Bulk delivery
Bulk suppliers may quote per cubic yard, cubic metre, metric tonne or US short ton. Minimum orders and sale increments can produce material left over.
Break-even point
Both options change in steps. The calculator evaluates successive bag-size intervals using the prices and delivery charges you enter; it does not use a hard-coded “bulk is cheaper above” rule.
